SimplyMail ("the app") is an email client that lets you connect to your own IMAP or POP3 email account. This policy explains what data the app accesses, how it is used, and how it is stored.
Data We Collect
Email account credentials. When you add an account, the app stores your email address, password, and mail server settings (incoming server/port, SMTP server/port) on your device only, using a local app database. These credentials are used solely to connect to your mail provider's servers on your behalf and are never sent to us or any third party other than your own mail provider.
Email content and attachments. Messages, attachments, and contacts you send or receive are transmitted directly between your device and your mail provider's servers to display and send your mail. Attachments you choose to send are read from your device's file picker only when you attach them.
Contact email addresses (optional). When composing a message, you may tap "Pick from contacts" to select a recipient. This opens Android's built-in contact picker; the app receives only the single email address you select and inserts it into the To/Cc/Bcc field. The app does not request access to, read, or store your full contact list.
Push notifications. The app requests notification permission to alert you about new mail. No notification content is sent through any third-party push service controlled by us.
Data We Do Not Collect
SimplyMail does not use analytics, advertising, or crash-reporting SDKs. We do not sell, rent, or share your data with third parties. We do not have a server of our own that receives your credentials, emails, or contacts — all mail traffic goes directly between your device and your mail provider.
Data Storage and Deletion
Account credentials and mail data are stored locally on your device. You can remove a connected account at any time from within the app, which deletes its stored credentials from the local database. Uninstalling the app removes all locally stored data.
Permissions Used
Internet — required to connect to your mail provider's IMAP/POP3/SMTP servers.
Notifications — required to alert you about new mail.
